ROOMS

With award-winning interior designer James Thurstan Waterworth at the helm, each of the 12 bedrooms at The Bradley Hare has been beautifully appointed with 18th & 19th century pieces and carefully sourced fabrics.

The historic nature and unique character of the building is perfectly balanced by contemporary artwork and modern comforts, including grand freestanding baths, sumptuous beds, and linens fit for a duke or duchess.

There are seven unique bedrooms in the Main House, and a further five larger rooms, in a more minimalist style, in the Coach House.

Natural plant fibre carpets and oak wood floors, soft lighting and soothing Farrow & Ball shades all echo the authentic design and use of natural elements and organic materials found throughout.

Room 1: Drove Watch

Drove Watch is a bright, cosy L-shaped bedroom that feels effortlessly like home. From a perfectly placed armchair, spy sheep grazing in the fields behind the pub, or unwind in an indulgently deep roll-top bath while contemplating the mighty Brimsdown Hill in the distance.

Room 2: The Garden Room

The Garden Room is a charming bedroom decorated in traditional Hamilton Weston floral wallpaper, adding a touch of nostalgia. Mismatched lamps sit atop elegant Regency bedside tables, while a cosy button-back armchair by the window draws the eye out over beautifully maintained gardens. An indulgent super king size bed and huge walk-in rainfall shower add extra luxury.

Room 3: The Nest

The Nest has a unique alcoved bed, framed by rich red, green and burnt orange curtains – inspired by a dress worn by Jane Seymour, Henry VIII’s third wife and sister of the first Duke of Somerset. Farrow and Ball’s Green Smoke walls complement the floor-to-ceiling emerald tiles in the bathroom, and a deep roll-top bath offers views of the garden and rooftops of Maiden Bradley.

Room 4: Church Street View

Spacious and light, Church Street View feels like the principal guest bedroom of an English country house. Original artwork hangs over the central fireplace, a grand oak chest takes up most of one corner, and a small Victorian writing desk under the window covets the view, as if waiting for its scribe. Mustard, red and navy shades are a nod to the Duke of Somerset’s estate, with wine red bathroom tiles throughout.

Smaller than Church Street View, Manor House Drive can be converted into a twin room and combined with Room 4 to create a family suite for four, each with en suite bathrooms. A soft leather library chair by the window provides a clear view of the 12th century Manor House across the road, the oldest property in Maiden Bradley.

Room 6: The Courtyard

A spacious room with views across the pot-lined courtyard and Coach House. The charming antique dressing mirror, 17th century bedside tables and small writing desk by the door, contrast with the modern luxuries of a super king size bed, huge rainfall shower and striking artwork above the fireplace. The Courtyard may be converted into a twin room.

Room 7: The Burrow

One of the cosiest rooms at The Bradley Hare, The Burrow still comfortably fits a super king size bed. The burnt orange, navy and red shades of the headboard (made from 20th-century fabric sourced from Azerbaijan), nod to the colours of the Coat of Arms of the Duke of Somerset. Mismatched ornate table lamps frame the bed and a small writing desk tucks into the corner. Overlooking the courtyard, this room is flooded with natural light.

Light and spacious, it is dog-friendly and features oak wood floors softened by hemp rugs. A generous bathroom houses a double basin and a large walk-in rainfall shower.

The Coach House rooms all retain the character of The Bradley Hare by effortlessly combining period furniture with modern comforts. Luxuriously large beds, deep roll-top baths big enough for two, and huge walk-in rainfall showers in the bathrooms.
